How Many Meals Per Day Should You Eat?

One of the most commonly held beliefs in the fitness community is that eating many small meals throughout the day will “rev up your metabolism” and help your burn fat.

The logic is, that by frequently ingesting calories, your metabolism will stay high because you’ll prevent your body from going into “starvation mode” and because of the so-called “thermic effect” of food.

Is there any merit behind this idea? Or is it simply another myth that makes little difference for your fat loss efforts?

Now, you can see that there isn’t much need to stress about meal frequency if your goal is fat loss.

In the end, you should be more concerned about your total caloric intake and make sure you aren’t eating too many calories.

Always remember that fat loss requires a caloric deficit.
