We can’t wait to finally open our doors back up and start seeing you again.
You are our family and we take your health and safety very seriously, and want to make sure you are comfortable coming back to GameChanger. That means we’re going above and beyond the CDC guidelines to make sure you & your loved ones stay safe.
Below, we’ve outlined our game plan that’ll help keep all of us healthy as we come out of the lockdown and start training together again.
Keep in mind that this is just the beginning. We’ll be constantly adding to our plan and we have even more strategies and upgrades coming in the near future. We’ll make sure to update you as they go into effect.
Check out what we have in place already:
HOW OUR STAFF IS KEEPING YOU SAFE
GC Pros Will Wear Face Coverings at All Times to Protect You
At GameChanger, we are here to serve you, and your health and fitness is our number one priority. Your coaches will wear face coverings at all times to keep you safe and feeling comfortable.

GC Pros Will Have Impeccable Hygiene Practices
We lead by example here, washing our hands before and after every session and using hand sanitizer before we touch any equipment.

GC Pros Will Have Limited Physical Contact With You
As much as we love hugs, high fives, fist bumps and hands on coaching, your safety is more important to us. We want to do everything within our power to create a safe and comfortable workout environment so you don’t have to worry. The coaches have been rehearsing and practicing coaching in the new environment for months. They have designated areas to stand in, move to, and coach from to maintain social distancing. The coaching you receive will be just as good, if not better, than you are used to!

GC Pros Will Have Routine Temperature Checks
Each staff member will have their temperature checked before the start of their shift along with a self assessment/questionnaire they will complete to ensure they do not have any COVID Symptoms. If a staff member has a temperature above 100 degrees, they will not be coaching or working that day. You don’t have to worry though, a coach will be ready to step in so nothing will change on your end.

ELEVATED CLEANING PROTOCOLS
We’ve always prided ourselves on having the cleanest fitness facility around and, to take that to the next level, we’ve consulted with a number of healthcare professionals to help us put the best and safest plan in place for you.
Based on that expert advice, here’s what we’re doing at GameChanger:

Electrostatic Disinfectant Spray
We’ve hired professionals to come in and spray every inch of our facility along with every piece of equipment. This new disinfectant sprays more evenly, gets hard-to-reach crevices, sticks to every surface it coats, and is proven to kill viruses like COVID-19.

Strictly-Enforced Deep Cleaning Schedule
We’re dedicating 20 minutes between every session so our staff can sanitize, disinfect and kill germs on all high touch areas and equipment. All weight equipment, toilet seats, sinks, all door knobs & handles, and cubbies will be sanitized and disinfected. The floors will be sanitized after each session, so you can feel comfortable not only with all of the equipment, but with the entirety of your workout space. We will have mats that will be sanitized after each session, and you are free to bring your own mat if that makes you feel even more comfortable.

Additional Hand Sanitizer & Wipe Stations
It’s incredibly important that our athletes have unlimited access to hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes, so we’ve increased the number of stations for both throughout the facility. There will be disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer easily accessed throughout the facility, so you’ll never be more than a few feet away if you need to disinfect your hands or any equipment.

EPA Registered Products
Not all disinfectants are made equally and only certain products are recognized by the EPA as effective against COVID-19. All the products at GameChanger are registered by the EPA and capable of killing COVID-19 within 60 seconds of contact.
THE EXPERIENCE AT GAMECHANGER
Screening Process for Your Safety
Athletes will arrive up to 10 minutes before the workout begins. Upon entering, a staff member will take your temperature using a touch free thermometer, to ensure your temperature is under 100.4 degrees. From there, you will answer a few simple questions so that we can ensure we do not let anyone in with COVID-19 symptoms, nor anyone who’s been knowingly exposed to COVID-19.

Your Very Own Equipment
During each session, you’ll have your own dedicated equipment that will not be shared with others. You can have confidence in knowing that you’re the only one who’s touched that equipment, and that it’s been properly disinfected and sanitized since the last time it was used. Your workout pod will have its own sanitizer bottle, disinfectant bottle, and a clean microfiber cloth so you’ll have everything you need in one place.

Our Social Distancing Protocol
To make sure we’re properly social distancing, floors will be marked to control the flow into and out of the facility, so you don’t have to worry about coming into close contact with other athletes. We’ll have workout spots marked 6+ feet apart so you can workout while socially distanced.

Fewer Athletes in the Facility At All Times
While other training facilities rely on cramming tons of kids into a small space, we do the opposite. With our personalized training, there will only be one or two handfuls of athletes in the facility at any time so you don’t have to worry about being in an overcrowded space.

Quick, Touch-Free Check-In Process
To ensure nobody enters their workout with an elevated temperature, which is a symptom of COVID-19, we’re going to do a quick, touch free temperature check. If your temperature is over 100 degrees, you will not train in-person that day. Don’t worry, you will not lose your session, so you can use it on another day.

YOUR PART

Stay Home If You’re Feeling Unwell
If you’re experiencing a cough, fever, or any other symptoms of COVID-19, we advise that you wait until you’ve been symptom- & fever-free for at least 3 days before returning to the gym. If you’ve tested positive for COVID-19 or come into close contact with someone who has tested positive, we ask that you wait 14 days or until you test negative for COVID-19 before returning to the gym.

Follow Good Hygiene Practices
Before entering and upon exiting the facility, please wash your hands with soap & water or use hand sanitizer. Also, wipe down any & all equipment you’ve used during your workout, and refrain from sharing equipment with other athletes.

Practice Social Distancing
Maintain a safe distance from others while in the facility, whether it is on the gym floor or in the front desk area, by following our markers placed on the floors. Avoid gathering in the front desk area (you’re welcome to do so outside the facility). Arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled workout to allow other athletes to safely leave. We also advise your parents stay at home, so we can keep the number of athletes in the facility to 12 or less.
WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU!
Here are some rules we all need to follow:
We Love Your Parents & Siblings!
Unfortunately, they will have to stay at home so we can limit the number of people in the building. It will keep them safest, too.

No Late Entry
Everyone must arrive on time for the screening process before the workout. There will be no late entry into the facility. You must arrive before the start time of the workout so that we can complete your check in process. Once the workout has begun, no one can enter the building. For example, for a 4pm session, anyone arriving at 4:00pm will have to go home. This is to ensure your safety while in our facility.

Please Bring Minimal Belongings to the Gym
We won’t be using the cubbies, so you can keep your items with you in your very own workout pods.

Let’s Encourage & Celebrate Each Other, but Without Physical Contact, Allowing Everyone to Feel Safe & Comfortable
We love hugs, high fives and fist bumps but please refrain from that for now.

We Will Respect the Laws of NJ in Regards to Out-of-State Travel
If you return from a state that is on the government’s 14 day quarantine list, please do not return to the gym until your quarantine is over, or you have tested negative for COVID-19. During this time, we would love to see you take our virtual sessions so you can continue to get your workouts in!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What Happens When You Show Up For Your Workout?
Entrance doors and doors throughout the facility will be propped open, so you don’t have to touch any door knobs to get to your workout.
There will be no late entry. You must arrive before the start time of the workout so that we can complete your check in process.
Once the workout has begun, no one can enter the building.
For example, for a 4pm session, any athlete arriving at 4:00pm or later cannot participate in the day’s workout. This is to ensure your safety while in our facility.
What if an Athlete Contracts COVID-19?
As our safety guidelines state, any athlete who tests positive for COVID-19, or has come into close contact with someone who’s tested positive, must wait 14 days until returning to the gym, or until he or she tests negative.
If an athlete or a parent tells us they test positive, we will close down the facility for 24 hours, and reach out to all athlete’s parents with an email so that you are informed about what is going on. During that 24 hour period, we will have a professional cleaner perform a deep sanitization of the facility using an electrostatic disinfectant spray, and all scheduled sessions will move to Zoom so that you never have to miss a workout.
Thankfully, we can reduce the risk of someone with COVID-19 from entering our building more than almost any businesses because of our check in process and limited athlete member base. People only enter by appointment, they are always under our supervision, there’s only one or two handfuls of people in the building at any given time, everyone is wearing face coverings, doors are opened for increased ventilation, and surfaces are frequently cleaned. It is impossible for any business or facility to eliminate that risk completely.
Whenever you leave your home, there’s a possibility that somebody in the same place as you has COVID-19, whether that be the supermarket, pharmacy, a restaurant, etc. The difference at GameChanger is we control every aspect of our business.
Also, with our guidelines and training system, athletes will never have had “prolonged exposure” to someone, which the CDC describes as being within 6 feet of someone for at least 15 minutes.
With the measures we are taking, you can feel safer entering GameChanger than you would anywhere outside of your own home.
Will You Have to Wear a Face Covering at the Gym?
As it currently stands, the state of New Jersey is that all members of GameChanger wear a face covering upon entering the facility, as well as during the workouts.
No worries, we have your backs though. We’ll be offering a breathable, light face covering that’s made for working out in, that way you can workout while still staying safe.
Will We Be Doing Temperature Checks?
As an added precaution, everyone entering the facility will go through an instant, touch-free temperature check before heading to their workout pod.
Will You Have to Share Equipment?
No.

We’ll have workout spots marked 6+ feet apart so you can workout while socially distanced.
What if a Staff Member Gets It?
Below is our current plan as of today. We are constantly reading the CDC’s guidelines and any updates they provide. As we receive more guidance from the local government, we will update our plan accordingly.
If a staff member tests positive for COVID-19, we will communicate that with all athletes & parents the same day. We’ll shut down for a few days so that every staff member can get tested. We’ll reopen with coaches who’ve tested negative for COVID-19, and only after having sanitized the facility with a professional electrostatic disinfectant spray. We have a professional who performs an electrostatic disinfectant spray on a bi-weekly basis. He will come in for an immediate disinfection if we learn a sick athlete was in the facility. During the days that we are shutdown, we’ll run our sessions virtually so that you won’t have to miss any workouts.
What Happens if the Government Forces Us to Shut Down Again?
If we’re forced to shut down again, we will update you immediately so you’re always in the loop. We’ll update the schedule with options to train outdoors and via Zoom so you don’t have to skip a beat. There’s a lot of things we can’t control but we can make sure you get a great workout no matter the environment, and that’s exactly what we will do. Now more than ever, your health is important and nobody can afford to let their guard down.
